WHO
I AM
My name is Leah Franks. I am a filmmaker working in editing, videography, and still photography. Whether on set or in my post-production zone, I like to keep a flexible schedule, maintain attention to details, and deeply understand the messages that need to be delivered.
In my primary work as an editor piecing narratives together, learning more about the topics or issues being explored is a great joy for me. Engaging with these subjects and issues helps me convey clients' visions to viewers, and creates collaborations that are greatly cherished.
I also thrive in capturing moments with the camera, preserving them as they are while framing them in compelling ways. Whether photos or videos, candid or scripted, fleeting happy accidents or meticulously planned takes, every chance to take a shot is worth it.
My first round of film school was at the University of North Alabama, where I earned my BA in Communications focused on Film and Digital Media Production, followed by the 40-week certificate program at the Seattle Film Institute. I am still based in Seattle, WA and work with clients all over the greater metro area.
